Jerusalem is a special place for celebrating Christmas, not only because it houses dozens of churches in different corners of the Old City and its surroundings, but also due to its close proximity to Bethlehem—the city where Jesus was born.

As Joseph and Mary searched for a warm and sheltered place for the birth of their firstborn, they saw Bethlehem just as it is today—blue skies, towering cypress trees, and bustling crowds on narrow streets.

During this period, the city squares are adorned with garlands and festive lights, and the streets are filled with carols. Churches hold services and festive liturgies in various languages.

On January 7th - Christmas - there will be free entry to Bethlehem regardless of citizenship!
