The Ammonites Wall
We will see traces of evolution preserved in the earth's crust.
It is a rocky wall containing fossils of ammonites - sea creatures that lived millions of years ago in the sea that covered the entire Negev at the time.
The ammonites got their name in honor of the ancient Egyptian deity Amun with twisted horns.
The endpoint of the route is the crater (in Hebrew "makhtesh") Mitzpe Ramon. This is an unusual place. The International Dark-Sky Association has declared it the International Dark-Sky Conservation Area. Mitspe Ramon is the first location in the Middle East to receive this status.
Many countries now share this position and organize dark sky sanctuaries, protected from light pollution. An erosion crater in the Negev Desert is one such site. Here we will be able to admire the clear starry sky, which you will not see anywhere else in the country.
We will have a unique, in its kind, interactive observation of the stars.

The unique crater of erosional origin is one of the main natural landmarks of Israel and, perhaps, the most famous object of the Negev Desert. Ramon really looks fascinating: thanks to the crater, the landscape seems alien.
Shivta National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national park located in the southern part of Israel. It encompasses the ruins of an ancient Nabatean city in the northern Negev Desert. Shivta is situated on the northern bank of the Zin Stream (Wadi Zeitan), on the eastern edge of the plain through which the Zeitan and Dror streams flow. Due to its remote location from other populated areas, Shivta has been better preserved than most ancient cities in the region.
The Ashelim Power Station is a solar power station located in the Negev Desert near Kibbutz Ashelim, south of the city of Beersheba.
It is the first concentrated solar power station in the Middle East! Electricity production began in September 2019. The solar tower utilizes molten salt to enable the facility to operate for up to 4.5 hours after sunset.
