Haifa

On the slopes of the legendary Mount Carmel is the third largest city in Israel, and the goal of our excursion — city of Haifa. Its convenient location on the seashore makes the city also the second most important port in the country.

In addition to the unique port infrastructure and its facilities, the attraction of Haifa is the Baha'i World Center — the largest center and place of pilgrimage for followers of this faith. On the territory of this center there are Persian gardens and the tomb of the founder of the Bahai faith — Woman. The Persian Garden consists of 19 terraces that form a huge staircase consisting of 1,400 steps. It is believed that every adherent of the Baha'i faith is obliged to walk along these stairs at least once, at the same time, ordinary tourists are only allowed to descend to the temple aisle.

Akko

The city of Acre is located 18 kilometers north of Haifa, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Our excursion will take you through the ancient streets of this city, whose history goes back many centuries and preserves the memory of the soldiers of the Holy Sepulcher — the crusaders who founded it in ancient times. The old districts of the city are included in the World Historical Heritage List, and archaeological excavations are constantly going on in this area, the results of which we will have the opportunity to examine in detail.

Rosh Hanikra

White Head or Rosh Hanikra is an immense chalk cape of dazzling white color, descending to the sea. We will be able to visit the most extreme point of the Israeli coast, beyond which Lebanon is already located. It is here that you can see the majestic natural ensembles formed by grottoes, which are not inferior in beauty to the Blue Grottoes of the Island of Capri.

Using a cableway built specifically for the descent, we will be able to get deep down, where the cave labyrinth begins, which has “secret” secrets. access to the open sea. When the sea is calm, the grottoes attract attention with the play of light and shadow, and when a storm begins, the walls are shaken by the roar of waves raging at their very feet. The impressions from visiting Rosh Hanikra do not lose their poignancy even after many years.

Attractions

Akre

It is the city, within the walls of which is still heard the clang of swords and armor of the crusaders and war cries calling for battle. Acre is saturated with history and time has no power over this place. Sometimes it seems that it is moving perfectly in a chaotic direction. Monuments of the past and present mixed together here, but they appeared far from architectural badness, on the contrary brought a special atmosphere.
There is an ancient port, and fortresses of the crusaders, and Turkish baths (hamams), mosques and even a magical garden built during the crusaders. Among all the historical diversity it is difficult to single out one thing.: the city keeps the secret of the Templars, it hosted Napoleon, the legendary king Richard the Lionheart, and despite all the warriors, rulers and conquerors, Acre has never interrupted its settlement for more than five millennia and is one of the oldest cities in the world.

Rosh HaNikra grottoes

On the territory bordering Lebanon, there is an unusual grotto washed by the Mediterranean Sea in a chalk cliff. Many historians agree that at one time Alexander the Great himself laid a tunnel in the rock through which his entire large army could pass. This place is open to tourists. The cable car leads to a 400-meter tunnel of man-made work, from where you can see all the splendor of unusual caves.

Bahai Gardens in Haifa

The spiritual center on Mount Carmel in Haifa is one of the holiest places for Baha'i practitioners, the youngest monotheistic religion in the world. The center includes a temple, a tomb where the remains of the Bab, the ancestor of the faith, and famous gardens rest.

The tomb is an impressive building crowned by a gilded dome. It is equipped with a backlight. Thanks to her, the dome is illuminated at night, but so that it seems as if the source of radiance is inside it.

To get to the tomb, the guest have to go through the gardens that terraces cover the slope of Mount Carmel. There are twelve in all. Seeing this incredible work of human hands, you will understand why the gardens are called the eighth wonder of the world. The local collection contains about 450 species of various plants, among which there are unique flowers. Shrubs are sheared, and you probably will not find lawns more even and greener in the city. Add to this the fountains - isn't it awesome? Bahai Gardens is a monument not only to faith and its founder, but also to the harmony and great taste of architects.
