How can you see Israel or any country from a new perspective? Unconventional tours can help with that – a view of the country from experienced individuals who know it well and can tell its story in a unique manner. During the tour, you will learn about the following historical sites:
- The incredibly ancient palace of Herod, which is part of a grand multi-level complex built in the mountains in the 20s BCE. It is divided into seven levels and features a museum and a souvenir shop (accessible via a funicular ride).
- The synagogue of the rebellious Jews, including its dining areas, baths, and underground passageways.
- Herod's theater with its luxurious lodges.
- The tomb of the biblical king himself.
- You will be taken to a viewpoint that overlooks the desert, Jerusalem with Bethlehem, Wadi Haritun, and Nahal Tekoa (Herodium is situated on a hill, providing a panoramic view).
- Eusebius Gate and the location where Pontius Pilate interrogated Jesus Christ

Herod the Great built this fortress with grandeur. He ruled over Judea from 37 to 4 BCE, and this place served not only as a stronghold but also as a summer palace for the monarch and a "capital" of the district. Later, it became the final resting place of the king and his monument. Herod the Great was a prolific builder, but only Herodium bears his name in its title.
