This region is located in the heart of the country, in the Judean foothills, in the area known as the Shephelah. The Shephelah region stands out for its landscape diversity and abundance of historical sites. In addition to the cave cities, you will encounter other historical monuments such as settlements, fortifications, churches, cemeteries, ruins of walls and towers, but everywhere there are artificial caves - large and small, standing alone or grouped together in complexes. Throughout the journey, you will witness fragments of the centuries-old history of the Holy Land - the bloody Maccabean wars, the magnificent cities of the Roman Empire, the remains of fortresses and churches from the time of the Crusaders, and much more...
