Our excursion will be dedicated to the distant and recent past, as well as the present day. It will take place in the western part of Jerusalem - Ein Karem and the surrounding areas.
We will begin with a unique and romantic love story between an Arab Christian from Ein Karem and a Jewish girl named Allegra from Mahane Yehuda. The story has a happy ending - their marriage and the birth of their children. But it also has a tragic ending - "leave your homeland, your home, your family." The house next to which the Allegra Hotel stands, the first stop on our journey, is still called the "Jewish girl's house" in memory of this extraordinary story.
After that, we will visit the Sisters of Zion Monastery, where the ideas of Judaism and Christianity intertwine in a strange way within this order.
From there, we will visit the modern jewelry enterprise I-Vel. Pearls, precious stones, the entire production process... All of this takes place in a fascinating complex that combines a 160-year-old structure with modern architecture. The enterprise, one of the leading in the world, is renowned for its philanthropic project of employing repatriates and its excellent wine cellar.
After lunch, we will encounter one of the most unusual monuments to the Catastrophe and the rebirth of the Jewish people and state - the "Flame Scroll." Nathan Rapoport managed to express sorrow and pride, sadness and hope in two bronze scrolls. The monument is erected above the road that was bloodily fought through by the Palmach, the Haganah, and the Israel Defense Forces in 1947-48 and 1967.

Attractions
One of the districts of Jerusalem, located on the outskirts of the city, is Ein Karem. This area consists of hills densely covered with vegetation, on which temples and monasteries are located. In Ein Karem John the Baptist was born.
In Ein Karem, a source holy to Christians beats, from which, according to legend, the Virgin Mary drank water (therefore, the source was named after her). On the territory of the Russian convent there is a stone, sitting on which, John the Baptist himself read sermons.
Ein Karem is a favorite place for tourists and residents of Jerusalem, because it is interesting both from a historical point of view and from a vacation point of view. Today, there are several restaurants in the Jerusalem area that serve a variety of local dishes.
A tour of the western outskirts of the city of Jerusalem will allow you to touch the history and enjoy the magnificent views from the hilly area.
Jerusalem is not only the capital of modern Israel, but also a city which, for many centuries, has been the "center of the world" for Jews, Christians and Muslims.
No other city on the planet can compare with it, because only Jerusalem has such a rich spiritual and historical attraction.
