Tsfat
The city of Tsfat is not mentioned in the Bible, yet it played a prominent role in the development of a science that interprets the texts of the eternal book from an unexpected perspective. We're talking about the science of Kabbalah, with Tsfat becoming its center during the medieval era.
The tour of the city will take place at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level, as Tsfat is situated on a plateau, offering a stunning view of Upper Galilee. During the time of the Second Temple, Tsfat faced challenges as it served as a stronghold for the rebellious Zealots engaged in defensive battles. For a long time, when the city was under the control of Crusaders and later the Mamluks, Tsfat held the status of a "capital" of the regional center.
Zippori
The city of Zippori is one of the few ancient settlements where the issue of peaceful coexistence between different ethnic groups was resolved. Romans and Jews lived and worked here peacefully for a long time. Our tour will take us through the old quarters of this ancient city, located approximately 300 meters above sea level.
The city is interesting for its history and its overall European-influenced appearance in medieval stylization. The buildings bear Jewish motifs, but only as decorations on facades and interiors. For example, on the Galilean Mona Lisa Villa, a clear depiction of a menorah can be seen in the mosaic. The city is continuously developing and becoming more well-maintained.
Judean Galilee
The northernmost point of Israel is Galilee. The interpretation of the name has several viewpoints, but the most plausible is derived from the mention of "Gil ha-Goyim" in the Old Testament, where the toponym represents a place for the dwelling of different tribes and nations. Galilee is divided into two regions - Lower and Upper. The Sea of Galilee is located to the east of the region. Unlike the Lower part, Upper Galilee is more forested and inaccessible.

In the first half of the twentieth century archaeologists began to work here and since then have extracted many amazing examples of culture and architecture. Work has not stopped so far. Historians will probably say more than once that they found something remarkable in Sepphoris.
Today in the park you can see a unique villa of the Roman period with two floors. It was built in the III century BC. Home decoration is striking in scale and subtle execution. So, the floors are decorated with magnificent mosaics, one of which went down in history under the name of Mona Lisa of Galilee.
In addition, the Roman theater, pavement, water supply and a whole network of streets have been preserved in Sepphoris. The so-called Nile house (it dates back to the 5th century) and the synagogue, built a century laterhave been preserved too. The floors here, as in the villa, are decorated with skillfully executed mosaics. The most famous mosaic image in the synagogue is a circle consisting of zodiac signs.
