The journey to the eastern part of the islandbegins with a climb to Arieiro Peak(1818 meters).

From the observation decks of Arieiro Peak< /strong>fantastic mountain landscapes open up; in good weather you will see theeastern cape of the island – Cape St. Lawrence, western tip of Madeira, islandsDesertas and Porto Santoincluded in the archipelago…

After a 30-minute walkto the Peak , through the thuja forests and oak groves of the island, we descend into the town of Santa da Serra, located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.
This part of the island is more English, with estates and golf courses. Every English estate in Madeira is a botanical garden, we will take a walk in one of these estates.
Here, in this town, in one of the local bars and restaurants you can drink a cup of excellent coffee or try the local drink ("ponsha")
– cocktail based on cane rum with the addition of local honey and lemon juice…

Next we go down to the ocean, to one of the island's beaches, located in a natural bay in the town of Porto da Cruz. After a short walk we will head to the northern part of Madeira, to the city of Santana. In this city you can see a recreated Maderian village – small cute houses with thatched roofs, which have already become one of the symbols of the island.

In one of the houses, lovers will be able to see almost all the flowers of Madeira collected in one place, here you can also buy seeds and tubers of these flowers….

Next our path lies to the easternmost cape of the island – Cape St. Lawrence. From the observation deck of the cape, the southern, gently sloping part of the island and the steep, rocky shores of the northern part of Madeira are clearly visible. The harsh beauty of the steep cliffs plunging into the “boiling” water. on the reefs the ocean is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent…
(If desired, you can drive 30-40 minutes to the Prainha beach with natural black volcanic sand)..
Lunch time – We go to the city of Canizal, the former whaling port of Madeira, now a city serving the island's cargo port.
In one of the coastal taverns we trylocal shellfish, octopus, fish, accompanied by good “Green wine »… All the freshest, justfrom the ocean

After lunch we go to the southernmost cape of the island –Garajau, on which in 1927 a statue of Jesus Christ was installed, with its own history…
