A little before reaching Budapest, the Danube changes its direction several times, bending along the narrow valley of the Carpathian Basin. It is this area that is known as theDanube Bend. This is a very popular excursion destination for both visitors and the local population.

A string of small towns along the bend offers its guests an amazing combination of history, culture and architecture. During the excursion, you will immerse yourself in the glorious past of the country and learn a lot of interesting things, as well as visit former historical capitals.

In Esztergom explore the Basilica - the largest cathedral Catholic church in Hungary, in the crypt of which many prominent religious figures of the country are buried. In Vysehrad - “Earthly Paradise”, as the papal nuncio called the city in the 13th century, admiring the beauty of these places and the splendor of King Matthias’s castle, you will see the former royal residence and Solomon’s Tower, in which, according to legend, Count Vlad Tepes (Dracula) was imprisoned.

It is at the foot of this tower that you will take part in a theatrical knightly tournament, and at the end you will enjoy a medieval feast in a restaurant with a Renaissance atmosphere, to the sounds of a lute. Roe deer soup, which you will be served in a clay dish, is famous far beyond the borders of the country, and the waiters dressed in medieval costumes will pour wine into real glasses!

Then you will walk through the ancient streets of Szentendre - an extremely popular tourist center, with its unique atmosphere, history and architecture. At the end of the 17th century, Serbs fleeing the Turkish invasion settled on the right bank of the Danube. Gradually they rebuilt the settlement in their own way in a baroque Mediterranean style and erected 6 Orthodox churches. Later, most of the Serbs returned to their homeland, leaving behind a unique town with narrow streets, colorful baroque facades and tiled roofs.

In conclusion, you will visit the famous Marzipan Museum, where you will definitely want to try them and buy products as souvenirs!
