As part of this tour, we will visit the monastery complex of Khor Virap, where the first Catholicos of All Armenians, St. Gregory the Illuminator, was imprisoned for 13 years for preaching Christianity. Then we will go to Vayots Dzor, get acquainted with the history of the Noravank Monastery, which is considered a masterpiece of Armenian architecture, and admire the wonderful landscapes of our highlands. Visit to thehouse-museum of Paruyr Sevakoptional.

Continuing our journey, we will reach the city of Jermuk, which is rich in resorts. In the Jermuk Mineral Water Gallery we will have the opportunity to try mineral water of different temperatures.  On the way back we will make a stop at the Areni winery, where we will taste different types of wine.

Gathering place: Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas (Sayat-Nova, 1a).

Noravank Monastery
Noravank Monastery

Noravank is an Armenian monastery complex built in the XIII-XIV, 122 km from Yerevan, on the ledge of a narrow winding gorge of a tributary of the Arpa River near the village of Areni. The gorge is famous for the steep red rocks that rise behind the monastery, on the territory of which there is a two-story church of St. Astvatsatsin with narrow cantilever staircases.

Areni Winery is one of the main attractions in Armenia for connoisseurs of fine wines. This is a two-story stone building with an extension, where there is a cellar with ready-made wines in bottles, huge barrels, a small factory, as well as a cafe, a souvenir shop, and of course a tasting room.
