This tour provides a unique opportunity to visit two outstanding places in Turkey at once, one of which is a UNESCO cultural heritage site.
You will visit the southwestern Turkish province of Denizli — from where the road extends to the ancient city of Hierapolis and terminal springs of Pamukkale — “Cotton Castle.” Here is another landmark of Turkey — the pool in which theEgyptian beauty Cleopatra once swam.
Get acquainted with the history of the ancient city and take a walk around its ruins! Although not all monuments of ancient architecture have survived in in their original form to our days — the following objects will delight you with their grandeur:
- Temple of Apollo
- Ancient amphitheater (at one time it accommodated up to 12,000 spectators)
- Byzantine gate and triumphal arch
- Necropolis and tomb of St. Philip the Apostle
and many other significant buildings in history!
Afterwards we will head toLake Salda — "Turkish Maldives". Why did this place get this name? Thanks to the emerald color of the crystal clear water, which is the “lake” you can't name this place! This is why the nature of Turkey is beautiful, that in the middle of high mountains and coniferous forests the “Maldives” were formed!
