Our excursion will start from the observation deck of the Mount of Olives, from which a magnificent panorama of the Old Town opens, sparkling with domes of cathedrals and churches. At the foot of the mountain you will see one of the greatest Christian shrines - the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin. Further, passing through the preserved section of the Garden of Gethsemane, you will touch the oldest olives in the world. In the center of the garden - on the site of these events - the Church of the Passion of the Lord (Church of all nations).
Continuing on the path of Jesus, you will visit the Upper Room of the Last Supper - the place of the last meal of Jesus and the disciples, located on Mount Zion.
You will pass the Via Dolorosa road (5 last stops) - the Path of Sorrow to the Temple of the Lord's Humpback - the main shrine, which has been a place of pilgrimage for Christians from all over the world since the 4th century.
The modern Church of the Holy Sepulcher is a complex architectural complex that unites Golgotha with the place of the Crucifixion, Kuvukliya, 3 temples, several chapels and monasteries belonging to 6 different denominations of the Christian church. You will touch the Stone of Confirmation, climb Calvary, visit the Kuvukliya, a small chapel in the center of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ. It was erected over the Holy Sepulcher and the so-called chapel of the Angel: the place where the Archangel Gabriel is believed to have sat on the stone rolled away from the door of the tomb, announcing the resurrection of Christ to the myrrh-bearing wives. It is here, on the eve of Orthodox Easter, that the Holy Fire descends.
The route ends at the Western Wall, the most sacred place for Jews around the world.

Jesus Christ preached on Mount of Olives.  Moreover, at that place he foresaw the future of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple, prayed in the olive grove of Gethsemane, was arrested due to the betrayal of one of his apostles - Judah. Also, in ancient times, the prophet Zechariah made a prediction about the end of the world. According to that predicition, Mount of Olives will split into two parts, and then the resurrection of the dead will begin. On the western slope of the mountain is a Jewish cemetery, where the son of King David Absalom was once buried, and now prominent statesmen of Israel are buried there.

Way of the Cross. Via Dolorosa

On the way from the Roman praetorium to Calvary passed the mournful path of Jesus Christ.  Fourteen forced stops were made along the way, due to circumstances stopping the sad procession, now called stations. Small churches or chapels were built on the site of the first ten stations. The remaining four can be seen in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Having walked along the Way of the Cross, you can see and feel what Jesus had to endure.(In the excursion you will visit the last 5 points)

Upper Room

In the building where the tomb of King David is located, on the second floor located the Upper Room. There took place the Passover meal of Jesus and his apostles , after which Judas betrayed Christ. Seven weeks later, the Holy Spirit appeared in the Upper Room.  After that, the apostles of Christ spoke in many different languages and went around the world to preach the New Testament. The scene of the Last Supper is reflected in the works of famous artists and icon painters.

Gethsemane

The Garden of Gethsemane is well knowen from biblical stories.  At that place  Jesus Christ prayed before one of his apostles, Judas, betrayed him.  It is a small fenced garden with olive trees, which, suggested to be dumb as a  witnesses of events unfolding on the night after the Last Supper. On the territory of the garden was built the Church of All Nations at the beginning of the 20th century.  When it began to be erected, the ruins of the Byzantine church and the chapel of the crusaders were found in that place. The church got its name for the reason that 12 Catholic communities from around the world donated money for its construction. His main shrine is the stone on which Jesus prayed that terrible night. There are no statues in the church, no daylight. But there are mosaics that depict the prayer of Christ, the kiss of Judas and the subsequent capture of Jesus.

Church of the Holy Sepulchre

Church of the Holy Sepulcher (Church of the Resurrection) - the main shrine and place of pilgrimage for all Christians around the world.  It is the place of the convergence of the Holy Fire, were Jesus Christ was crucified,  buried and resurrected.

Pyrohoshcha Church

The Tomb of the Virgin is the greatest Christian shrine, where, according to Holy Tradition, the Most Holy Theotokos was buried by the apostles. Located in Gethsemane. Above the tomb, a cave church of the Assumption of the Virgin was built.

Golgotha

In Jerusalem there is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher revered by all Christians. The part  of that churrch is one of the most important shrines of the Christian world - Golgotha or Calvary (the mountain on which Jesus was crucified).
To the right of the main entrance to the Temple there are steps - you can follow them to Calvary. This holy place is surrounded by candles and lamps. Under the altar of the Orthodox chapel, located on Calvary, there is a deepening marked by a silver circle. If you put down your hand, you can touch the place where  stood the cross, on which Jesus was crucified.
Believers from different countries come to Jerusalem to visit the most important attraction - the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and touch Golgotha.

Chapel of the Milk Grotto

Not far from the Temple of the Nativity in Bethlehem located  the Chapel of the Milk Grotto. This place, as is commonly believed, served as a refuge for the Holy Family (they hid here from the cruel King Herod, who ordered to kill all the babies of the city).
Chapel of the Milk Grotto got its name because of one case: the Mother of God was breastfeeding the baby, and some milk fell outside the cave wall, after which the walls instantly turned snow-white. It is can be seen  to this day - the cave inside is incredibly white. It is believed that the walls of the cave are able to cure infertility, as well as increase the amount of milk during breastfeeding, so many women tend to get here.
The first church was erected in the cave in the 5th century; today only a mosaic has been preserved near the entrance.

Jerusalem

Jerusalem is not only the capital of modern Israel, but also a city which, for many centuries, has been the "center of the world" for Jews, Christians and Muslims.

No other city on the planet can  compare with it, because only Jerusalem has such a rich spiritual and historical attraction.

The quality of the excursion largely depends on the guide. Our excursion was wonderful since we had Shaul as our guide. With his stories, he carried us into deep history, showed us his extensive knowledge of the subject of the excursion, and was attentive to our problems. Many thanks to him.

I would like to express my gratitude to the guide Boris Beck. It was a very interesting excursion. I learned so many new things about this amazing city of Jerusalem. Boris's story left an indelible impression. Historical facts alternated with quotations from the Bible. Time has passed, but I still look at the photographs with pleasure and remember Boris’s story. If I am lucky enough to come to your wonderful country again, I will definitely try to get on any excursion conducted by Boris Beck.
