During this excursion we will get to know the coast of Girona, which more than 100 years ago received the name “Costa Brava”, which means “Rocky coast”, thanks to its special steep and steep terrain, indented by small bays surrounded by Pyrenean pine trees and washed by crystal clear water.
The richness of this area is expressed by the recognition of several Protected Natural Landscapes in a significant part of its territory, among them: Cape Creus, Empord Estuaries and Medes Islands Marine Reserve.
«Costa Brava» famous not only for its coastal topography, but also for its picturesque villages. Small ancient fishing villages with white-walled houses and narrow winding streets continue to charm their guests.
For a long time, this territory was the entrance gate and stopping place of various cultures and civilizations, each of which left its mark, preserved to this day, as evidenced by the Greek and Roman ruins of the city of Emporion.< /p>
We would like to show you the most significant and important places, captivating with their incomparable splendor, so that you can get an idea of what the Costa Brava is all about. A place that cannot be missed when visiting Catalonia, a place that will not leave anyone indifferent.

The paths of the Guards Watch border the entire coast of the Costa Brava; they were previously used to protect against maritime smuggling. And today, thanks to them, we can discover beautiful corners that cannot be reached otherwise.
Laffran – another small, elegant and charming placeby the sea, with the authentic charm of coastal villages.
Our next stop is L’Estartit, a seaside village with a large port, famous throughout the world for its scuba diving center. This place gained its popularity thanks to the Medes Islands archipelago, which stretches for one kilometer along the coast.
TheMedes Islands are interesting for the diversity of flora and fauna living on their underwater territory, where scientists have discovered more than 1200 different species. The ecosystem of this place has been recognized as the best Reserve of the Western Mediterranean, as well as a Protected National Park and a SPCA (Protected Area of Special Importance for the Mediterranean).
Here you will have free time, which you can devote to lunch or a short walk around the village. Then, at 15:00we will board the underwater excursion ship Nautilus.
The duration of the boat trip is 1 hour and 30 minutes. First we head to the fringing islands, where the views are magical. And going down into the underwater cabin of the excursion ship with large windows, we will be able to enjoy a special view of the seabed filled with life. It seems as if we put on underwater masks and plunged into the sea! The sea part of our route will end on the rocks of the Montgri mountain range, which amaze with their magnificence and can only be approached by water. This place is one of the most virgin corners of the Costa Brava.
At approximately 17:00 we will arrive in Pals, a town located on the top of a hill. Local residents have almost completely integrated into the spectacular medieval architectural ensemble, topped by a 12th-century cylindrical tower that can be seen from afar. From this tower, like a terrace, you have an excellent panoramic view of the Costa Brava and its surroundings.
Walking along the stone streets of the town center, we will plunge into the world of the distant past. Semi-circular arches, facades with lancet windows, stone balconies are still in excellent condition.
