We'll head to the east coast to meet the rising sun to enjoy fantastic sandy beaches and  clear azure waters. The opportunity to get acquainted with the “progenitor” Famagusta, the ancient city-state of Salamis,is introduced to us first.  Salamis is famous for its well-preserved marble sculptures, amphitheater and gymnasium.

Not far from Salomina there is themonastery of the Apostle Barnabas — the first Christian preacher in Cyprus, built in 477 in traditional Byzantine style on the site of his tomb.

City of Famagusta  will impress you with its powerful Venetian fortress walls. We will stroll through the narrow streets of the city and learn about the history of one of the most famous Gothic temples in Cyprus. Cathedral of St. Nicholas, where the coronation ceremony of the Cypriot kings took place. This is now a perfectly preserved temple. You will have free time to visit local shops, taste oriental sweets, and enjoy aromatic oriental coffee.

We will have the opportunity to cool down our passion for understanding the cultural heritage of antiquity in the immediate vicinity ofVarosha. Here we will soak up the white sand and plunge into the azure waters. On the way back we will drive aroundthe “ghost town” along the perimeter.
