Attractions
Ananuri Fortress is a historical complex in Georgia, located on the shore of Lake Tsnori. Built in the 16th century and served as the residence of Georgian princes. The fortress includes two castles, a church with stunning frescoes and extensive defensive walls. This is an important tourist site with historical and cultural significance for Georgia.
Gudauri is a ski resort in Georgia, located in the Gudauri Gorge at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level. Known for its quality skiing and snowboarding trails, as well as excellent conditions for winter recreation. The region also offers a variety of hotels, restaurants and activities for tourists, making Gudauri a popular destination for winter outdoor activities.
Zhinvali Reservoir is one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. The lake is surrounded on all sides by green mountains covered with deciduous and pine forests.
The area of the mirror surface of the reservoir is 14 square meters. km, and the depth reaches 75 meters.
The Trinity Church in Gergeti (Gergetis Tsminda Sameba) is located at an altitude of 2,170 m at the foot of Kazbek along the Georgian Military Road in the Georgian village of Gergeti on the right bank of the Chkheri (tributary of the Terek), directly above the village of Stepantsminda.
Built in the 14th century, the shrine is the only cross-domed church in the Khevi region. A medieval bell tower has been preserved near the temple.
During Soviet times, the church was closed, but has now been returned to the Georgian Orthodox Church. Popular among tourists.
