During this excursion we will get to know the coast of Girona, which more than 100 years ago was dubbed the Costa Brava, which means “Rocky Coast”. , thanks to its special steep and steep terrain, indented by small bays surrounded by Pyrenean pine trees and washed by crystal clear water.

The richness of this area is expressed by the recognition of several Protected Natural Landscapes in a significant part of its territory, among them: Cape Creus, Empord Estuaries and Medes Islands Marine Reserve.

The Costa Brava is famous not only for its coastal topography, but also for its picturesque villages. Small ancient fishing villages, with white-walled houses, narrow winding streets continue to charm their guests.

For a long time, this territory was the entry gate and stopping place of various cultures and civilizations, each of which left a trace that has survived to this day.

In this half-day excursion we would like to show you the southern part of the Costa Brava with two towns located on it that embody the true essence this coast. Such different but complementary settlements will help you get a correct idea of what the Costa Brava is in just a couple of hours that you will spend outside the city limits of Barcelona .

Our excursion departs from Barcelona Nord Bus Station, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 08.30. We recommend that you be at the specified location fifteen minutes before departure.

In approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes we will arrive in Lloret de Mar, the main tourist center of the Costa Brava. Only upon approaching the town can we feel its rhythm: a lot of cars, tourists from all over Europe who want to enjoy its beaches, hotels, shops, interesting events and vibrant nightlife.

You will have one hour of free time, which you can devote to exploring this colorful and dynamic town, which has its own unique charm. p>

During a walk along the coast, we will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the local beaches: from the majestic beach of Lloret to the secluded beach of Sa Caleta. An incomparable view of the town and its surroundings opens from two gentle hills located along its edges. Walking through its narrow streets, which preserve the town's fishing past, we will find many shops to suit every taste: from boutiques with the latest brands to the usual beach markets.

In the heart of the city's main shopping street, we will be able to contemplate architectural masterpieces of great significance, such as the Church of St. Roman, made in an exquisite modernist style, Inside the temple there is a perfectly preserved altar from the 16th century.

At approximately 11:30 we will board the ship Dofidjet, on which we will go to the neighboring town of Tossa de Mar. During a boat trip we will be able to enjoy the incomparable characteristic landscape of the Costa Brava coast: a parade of huge rocks, the capricious shapes of which have been formed over the centuries under the influence of sea waves and wind.

About 12:30 we will arrive in the symbolic town of Tossa de Mar, known as the “Pearl of the Costa Brava” because of what it can accommodate in itself all the elements of landscape and history for which this coast has earned its fame.

Magnificent landscapes of Tossa de Mar: from the coast, beaches, rocks and caves to >wild vegetationturn it into one of those places that perfectly manage to preserve their natural origin in harmony with tourist development.

The eras changed, leaving their traces on the streets of the city: from the Roman town of Vila Romana dels Ameties, which is a classic example of a Mediterranean agricultural settlement and one of the most important cities of the ancient province of Tarraco, tothe fortress of Vila Vella, which was recognized as a national monument of art in 1931, and the fortress walls and towers became the symbol of the municipality. Today, this complex is the only surviving medieval settlement on the Catalan coast. The fortress itself was built at the beginning of the 13th century; subsequently it was restored several times.

Behind the fortress wall is the old traditional fishing quarter of Sa Roqueta, where you can still breathe in the characteristic sea air inherent in the settlements of the Costa Brava .

Upon arrival in Tossa de Mar, we will take a walk from the beach to the top of the fortress, where the lighthouse is located. There we will have magnificent views of the coast. During the descent we will walk through the narrow streets of Vila Vella and then enter the fishermen's quarter. Here you can enjoy free time, and devote it to further exploration of the town and have lunch. Undoubtedly, here you will find the widest gastronomic selection of the entire Costa Brava.

A quiet walk along the city beachwill help us discover corners with unique views of the coast.

You can’t leave Tossa without stopping by the small beautiful shops that dot the ancient streets.

About 16:00 we leave back to Barcelona by bus. Arrival is scheduled for approximately 17:30.
