Pernštejn Castle, located near the town of Zdiar nad Sazavou, is a popular destination among tourists visiting the Czech Republic. Built at the end of the 13th century by the Pernstein family, the castle served as their residence for several centuries. At the beginning of the 16th century, the building was completely rebuilt by order of William II, a famous politician at the court of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary. This majestic castle, which arose on the site of a fortress, has stood the test of time, including the raids of Swedish invaders during the Thirty Years' War.
