In the morning we will go to the center of Larnaca, where there is a temple dedicated to the Bishop of Kitia. Saint Lazarus was the shepherd of the Christian community of the city of Kition.
Next is the monastery of the First Martyr Thekla, Equal to the Apostles. It was founded by Saint Helena in the 4th century. During her prayer, at the site of the current monastery, a healing spring gushed out from under the ground. Over it, according to legend, Saint Helena erected a temple. On the territory of the monastery there is a source of miraculous clay that you can take with you. It heals skin diseases. We will touch the last years of the 3rd century by visiting the monastery dedicated to St. Minas. Saint Minas — one of the most beloved saints by the people. In Cyprus they believe that Saint Minas can heal any disease.
Next destination — this is one of the best wineries in the region.
We will also visit the village of Lefkara, it known since Venetian times for the special art of lace weaving (Lefkaritika). Lefkaritika is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
Finally, the capital of the island. Nicosia has been divided into two parts by a wall since 1974 after the Turkish invasion, despite this, the capital of Cyprus — it is a city of the fusion of two cultures and the peaceful coexistence of past and present. We will make a short photo stop at the Freedom Monument. Taking your passport with you, you can cross the demarcation line in order to compare life in the “North” with and the South" Nicosia. You will have the opportunity to stroll and dine on the popular Ledra promenade in the city center. Also, in your free time, you can visit classic motorcycle museums, an archaeological museum and an observatory museum (optional, entrance tickets are not included in the price of the trip).
