Embark on a journey through the ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine eras on the west coast of Cyprus. The main highlight of the route — Paphos, an open-air museum city. Let's start with the ancient city-state of Kourion with its world famous Greco-Roman theater and the House of Eustolius.
After Kourion, our route will lead us to the Monastery of Neophytos, built in the 15th century, near cells carved into the rock. This is a place of amazing beauty and significance: in 1183, the cells were decorated by a Cypriot icon painter, which became an example of Byzantine iconography. Then we will find Paphos, the ancient capital of Cyprus, listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
In Kato Paphos we will visit the House of Dionysus — a Roman villa with stunning floor mosaics telling about the heroes of ancient Greek myths. After this we will enjoy a walk along the Paphos promenade.
Our journey will end with the village of Geroskipou, beckoning with its traditional delicacies and sweets. The last stop will be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the legendary goddess of love, where you can take a dip in the sea and find rejuvenation.
