In this excursion we will be able to see the Troodos mountain range. In the village of Astromelitis we will try Cypriot coffee. Then we go to the Kykkos Monastery, stopping at the monument to the first President of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios ΙΙΙΙΙΙΙ in Troni, after which we head to the richest monastery in Cyprus.
The Kykkos Monastery houses one of the miraculous icons of the Mother of God, painted by Saint Luke himself during the life of the Virgin Mary. You will visit theChurch of Our Lady of Kykkosand the Museum Byzantine art, famous for its collection of ancient icons and church utensils from the 9th to the 18th centuries.
In the highest mountain village of Prodromos we will have a stop for lunch and photography. On the way we will make a photo stop at Mount Olympus. Then we will pass through picturesque mountain villages and go to thewine region of Camandaria. Kamandaria wine has been produced in Cyprus for over 4,000 years. Let's stroll through the streets of the village of Monagri and visit the Menargos winery.
The final stop will be the village ofLEFKARA, famous for its handmade lace and silver products, the pattern technique on which Lefkaritika is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List
