Tour Guba-Shahdag

The Guba-Shahdag excursion is an exciting journey through the European part of Azerbaijan. On the way to the mountains of the North Caucasus along the Caspian Sea, tourists are immersed in the vastness of the steppe and delightful snowy peaks.

The route begins where the land of the Absheron Peninsula gives way to the massif of the foothills of the North Caucasus, known as the Khizi Mountains, home to the Daghls - a sub-ethnic group of the Iranian nation, Azerbaijanis of Persian origin.

Of particular interest are the Colored Mountains, so called because of their colorful palette, reminiscent of sugar candy. Several kilometers pass along the winding road between the Colored Mountains, providing tourists with indescribable positive emotions and invaluable experience.

The next stop is Krasnaya Sloboda in the city of Guba, also known as the Jerusalem of the Caucasus, due to the compact population of Jews here. Mountain Jews have maintained their traditions for centuries, which is reflected in the synagogues, museum, cemetery and the Star of David on houses.

The tour includes lunch at a restaurant at the entrance to the picturesque forest, which serves dishes and snacks of Azerbaijani cuisine. Driving through a dense forest, creating a natural tunnel from the treetops, will be an unforgettable experience, and stopping will allow you to enjoy the fresh forest air.

The highlight of the tour is a trip to Gusar, where Mount Shahdag rises, one of the highest peaks in Azerbaijan with a height of 4243 meters. The name "Shahdag" is a symbol of the multinationality of Azerbaijanis, combining the Persian "King" and the Turkic "Mountain". The cable car and cozy café at the top provide exciting entertainment and views for guests.
