On the feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, believers commemorate the miracle of the appearance of the Mother of God to the famous Christian saint Andrew, Christ for the Holy Fool, and his disciple Epiphanius.
On this day, we offer to visit important places in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Jerusalem was erected directly above the tomb of the Virgin Mary on the Mount of Olives, or the Mount of Olives. This is one of the few places where worship services of several faiths are held at once: at least nine different directions of Christianity. Overview

The Wailing Wall is part of the outer wall of the destroyed Jerusalem Temple, where, according to the existing tradition, you can leave notes with your requests to God.

Bethlehem is one of the oldest inhabited places in the world, currently located on the territory of the Palestinian Authority and one of the oldest Christian communities in the world is located here. The modern name is Beit Lehem (House of Bread).

Pilgrims from all over the world in Bethlehem are attracted, first of all, by the Church of the Nativity, the gates of which have not been closed since the 6th century. The main shrine of the temple is the Cave of the Nativity, which is revered even among the Protestants. No less important shrine of the Church of the Nativity is the unique icon of the Smiling Mother of God.

Not far from the Church of the Nativity is the Milky Grotto, in which, according to legend, the Holy Family hid from King Herod. Over the past centuries, this is a place of pilgrimage for women who have problems conceiving and feeding babies.

Then you drive to the border of Bethlehem and the village of Shepherds - Beit Sakhur (translated from the Arabic House of Shepherds). According to the Gospel, it was at this place that the shepherds of the sheep of the Magi were the first to be informed of the birth of the Savior.

Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, is located in the small Arab city of Beit Jala. You can see a tiny cave in which, according to legend, Nicholas the Wonderworker lived for several years in the 4th century.

Attractions

Bethlehem

Modern Bethlehem is located on the territory of the Palestinian Authority. The main population is Muslim Arabs and a small part of Christian Arabs. The main income of Bethlehem is the flow of tourists. Christian pilgrims from all over the world come to this city, the place where Jesus Christ was born. Every Christmas in Bethlehem Christmas masses are held snd the masses are broadcast around the world. The main shrine of the city is a silver star in the cave of the Church of the Nativity of Christ, which marks the place where Jesus was born. In this temple there is a miraculous icon of the smiling Mother of God, the cave of the Beaten Babies.

Wailing Wal

The Western Wall or the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem is the wall preserved after the destruction of the First and Second Temples of the Jews. The Arabs, who saw how the Jews grieve over the destruction of the temple, called this place the Wailing Wall. Currently, there is a tradition: when you standing at the front of  Wailing Wall you can  make the most secret dreams. You can also put a note between the stones of the Wall with a cherished desire, which will certainly come true. When you are planning to visit the Wailing Wall, it should be remembered that this is possible only in modest clothing that covers the knees and shoulders.

Church of the Nativity

The Church of the Nativity of Christ was erected in Bethlehem above the cave where Jesus was born. Divine services at the Nativity Church have not practically interrupted since the Early Byzantine era. The modern building of the Church of the Nativity is the only Christian temple in Palestine, preserved from the pre-Muslim period.

Pyrohoshcha Church

The Tomb of the Virgin is the greatest Christian shrine, where, according to Holy Tradition, the Most Holy Theotokos was buried by the apostles. Located in Gethsemane. Above the tomb, a cave church of the Assumption of the Virgin was built.

Milk grotto

Since the 7th century in Western Europe, drops of the "milk of the Virgin" were revered as relics. These are particles of porous white stone that were found in a cave in Bethlehem, where, according to legend, the Holy Family fled for some time (about 40 days) from the soldiers of King Herod.

Shepherds' field

The underground temple in the name of St. George the Victorious and the temple in honor of the Virgin Mary Cathedral are located near the Palestinian town of Beit Sakhur in a small valley with olive trees, some of which are older than 2000 years.

This place is also known as the Shepherds’ Field, where the Angel announced the birth of Christ to the shepherds awake in the field.

In the cave where the announcement of the Angels took place, three shepherds, eyewitnesses of the event, wished to be buried at the place where they were honored to see the Glory of the Lord.

Jerusalem

Jerusalem is not only the capital of modern Israel, but also a city which, for many centuries, has been the "center of the world" for Jews, Christians and Muslims.

No other city on the planet can  compare with it, because only Jerusalem has such a rich spiritual and historical attraction.
